I received a link today, to a recent video that has been created by the islanders of Giglio to promote tourism. It is truly a shame that this accident has caused so much devastation on the island. Tourism which is their main source of income and largest industry has taken a huge turn since the accident. Although the shipwreck has brought people to the island in memory of loved ones, media and daily onlookers, it had detracted from holiday makers and people who travel for the love of nature.
Having been back to the island in July of 2012, Laurence and I were welcomed with open arms. So much love and hospitality and endless appreciation in favor of our return.
I would love to schedule a date to all survivors, as many as we can encourage, to return to Giglio together. The Islanders are beautiful people and deserve to have their lives back … and more!
